Custom AF1

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Jordan Brand footwear designer Toussaint King on a custom Air Force 1 project. Together, we focused on material selection and the development of a distinctive pattern that paid tribute to a mentor and former colleague. The design incorporated elements inspired by his past work and creative partnerships, including logos and emblems from internal Nike networking groups, brand initiatives, and key events he contributed to.

Throughout the project, we approached each phase with intention—refining material placements, iterating on pattern applications, and ensuring the design aligned with both the honoree’s legacy and Nike’s production standards. After exploring multiple design directions, we partnered with our product and materials teams to finalize the most viable concept, balancing creative vision with material availability and production timelines.
