Lit Sauce

Uncorked Studios was a digital first agency, but we used the opportunity to created holiday gifts to showcase skills outside of the digital space. Asking ourselves what would be fun and unexpected? In 2016, we collaborated with Beaverton Foods to create an original hot sauce recipe. The hot sauce had a custom package and came with a felt pennent and enamel pin.

I took responsibility for the custom package design. I understood the package needed to serve two main functions — one, it had to be durable for shipping, and two, it also had house the hot sauce, the pennant, and the pin without shifting. I decided to use several layers of corrugated fiberboards because each piece of the package could sit in a fitted die cut. Another layer of fiberboard was place on top of the hot sauce and other pieces, and a wide sleeve was used to seal the two layered fiberboards together for shipping.
